Artists
Is an emerging musical group directed by Celina Reyes born from the concept of strings in all their meanings; the strings of the instruments that create music and the strings that keep us linked with our Latin American native culture, forming a bridge between our old and new homes.
This traditional Chilean Dance Group was formed in 2019 in Auckland to promote folkloric representations of Chile and Latin America to the peoples of New Zealand. They are a self-managed non-for-profit organization where everyone participates and has a voice in the decisions of the group.
Kunza’s goal is to promote traditional cultural artistic demonstrations - particularly Chilean Folkloric Dances-, and recreational activities to the community. Either by participating in multicultural festivals and events, or through the organization of our own such as: cultural dance workshops, bingos, fundraisers, live music, and social gatherings for the community.
Our dances include (but are not limited to) the main geographical regions of Chile: Andean from the northern region, Huaso Zone from the centre (where our national dance, Cueca is the most representative), Chilote from the southern region, and Rapa Nui from the Chilean territories in Polynesia.
